CHINA LOVES 3-D!
(Except for these four people in a photo from an article about how much China loves 3-D.)
The New York Times just published this article about how U.S. filmmakers and studios are feeding China’s hungry demand for stereoscopic 3-D movies. It’s an interesting article, but mostly I was amused by the unintentionally hilarious photo that accompanied the article. It’s an audience in Taiyuan watching “Titanic 3-D.”
There are four people in the first three rows of the theater that aren’t even wearing 3-D glasses! This is something I’ve noticed a few times in recent stereoscopic 3D screenings. I’ll occasionally see people watching the movie without the glasses. What the hell are they thinking? Without the glasses, the picture of a stereoscopic 3-D movie is basically nonsense. I’m curious to know why people are willingly paying surcharges to watch a movie that they can’t actually watch properly.
